Internet radio is buggy - alarms often do not work...

Strengths: The base unit works fine - the iPhone app is the buggiest I've ever seen...

Weakness: Cannot depend on the alarm to actually work, internet radio streaming only works occasionally, and there are no instructions available for how to use it.

I bought this unit four days ago on the strength of the iLounge review. This has been a huge (and expensive) mistake.

Whilst the base unit works just fine - the sound quality IS rather good, and the alarm functionality is good, most of the reason why one would buy this unit is to get the added functionality that is provided by the "iHome+sleep" and iHome+radio applications that are supposed to make the unit far more versatile.

For example, you're supposed to be able to go to sleep to internet radio stations and then wake up to internet radio stations, or indeed any other combination of internet radio, analogue radio, or regular beeps that you like.

The problem is that the iPhone app that's supposed to do this doesn't work in any kind of predictable way with the base unit. If you program it to play internet radio, it might play it, or it might play the itunes, and more worryingly, oftentimes, the alarm won't go off.

If you don't believe me, visit their technical support site - go to their support site on getsatisfaction . com and search for iHome+sleep, and see how many other users can't get this to work as well...

What's additionally frustrating is that there is no current documentation for the current version of the application (it refers to an outdated version), and most of the documentation refers to a different model of alarm clock - not the iHome ia100...), and if you look closely, you'll see that there doesn't seem to be anyone from the company actively responding to problems on the tech support site (the last post from one of their staff is months old...)
