Strengths: Strengths: GREAT LOOKS LONG BAT. LIFE. ALMOST FULL SIZE KEYBOARD, LARGE TOUCH PAD.G00D FOR GENERAL USE IF TRAVELING.

Weakness: Weaknesses: YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY EXTRA FOR A DVD DRIVE. HAS MINIMAL SOFEWARE, BUT WITH THE DVD DRIVE AMPLE SOFTWARE CAN BE LOADED. HAS A SMALL SCREEN.

Summary: ALL IN ALL I AM QUITE SATISFIED. CAN WORK FOR GENERAL USE BUT GREAT FOR TAVELING. ATTRACTIVE WITH A VERY DECENT BATTERY LIFE. I USE IT FOR MUST OF MY COMPUTER NEEDS AND CAN WORK FOR ANYONE.

Be Careful!

Strengths: Good Machine

Weakness: Power supply died one day after product received. ASUS says they're not in stock, will have to order from Taiwan, and I shouldn't expect it for a month.

Think hard before buying from ASUS. This is a nice machine, but it is unacceptable that a major item such as a power supply would be out of stock for a month. The difference between this machine and others made by reputable U.S. companies is minimal, so don't take the chance! Think hard before buying from ASUS. This is a nice machine, but it is unacceptable that a major item such as a power supply would be out of stock for a month. The difference between this machine and others made by reputable U.S. companies is minimal, so don't take the chance!

I explained that I bought this for business and asked that they at least replace the machine since I had just bought it the day before. They refused and said there was nothing else they could do for me.

Going through ASUS's website one gets the distinct impression that this is not a customer oriented company. For example, it explicitly states that many of the notebook parts they sell on their site are sold without any warranty whatsoever.

This situation would be very less likely to have occurred at other U.S.-based companies that sell products that are substantially the same. It is now clear to me that when one buys a consumer product these days, one has to be very careful not only to choose the right product, but also the right company.

I can't stress this enough: It is not worth taking the chance of purchasing a product like this from a company that has been shown to have little regard for its customers, especially when comparable products exist elsewhere.

Look around some more!

Buyers be aware! Crashed within 3 months!

Strengths: It worked beautifully for first two months

Weakness: One morning, it just crashed! I did not drop the computer or had any damages. It just died. This was our 6th labtop computer, and this was first time I and my family experienced this kind of crash.

Terriable service by the company. When I called them, they told me I have to pay myself to mail the computer for the repair. They also told me it would take about 3-5 days. We purchased this computer for oversea trip and we even paid for Federal express the computer to them so they can return the computer to us prior to the trip. The company told me that something was wrong with the original motherboard, and they had to order the motherboard from Tawain which took almost a month! Everytime I called the company, they told me that some superviser supposed to call me regarding the status of the computer, but she never did. I would never buy anything from this company.
