Save your Money
Strengths: FM Radio
Weakness: Everything else
First one I had the volume control was faulty, returned to Manufacturer. Received another one 1 1/2 months later, same problem. Figured I could live with it. Then the left speaker will not work with ipod on, only radio. Now the speakers don't work on the radio unless I jiggle the knob. I had to deal with 3 different idiots at the manufacturer to get a new one. Just received it this week....

DLO iBoom for iPod
Strengths: Compact, battery operation, FM digital Tuner
Weakness: No remote control
I'd like to use this at pool side and this iBoom fits for my requirement.
It looks like the usability is improved from the initial product release(2005). The volume control is good (no sound to louder) and the sound is good enough and low noise.
I could get this for $40 and love it.

What a disappointment!
Strengths: Portable, option of battery or ac power
Weakness: Volume control and overall quality
I just received my new DLO iBoom last night, which I purchased to use with my iPod mini and my new iPod 5G. I was excited about the idea of being able to play my iPod on a portable device. I turned the volume control knob to adjust the level and...

iBoom - Hit or Miss
Strengths: Sound quality at higher volume, FM receiver is a good addition to the iPod, portable, integrated handle
Weakness: Low volume control is an issue, only two (!) station presets, loose antennae in first unit
I got my first iBoom, and found that the volume would not go down low without killing the volume completely. The volume could not be lowered enough to have a conversation over the music due to loudness. Secondly, when moving the iBoom, there was a LOUD banging inside (something VERY heavy was loose), I assume it was the antennae. I returned the first iBoom, and the replacement came within 2...

iBoom
Strengths: portability, battery powered, compact, sound is good enough
Weakness: sound is not superb, but is quite good for what it is
I use it in the operating room, so I don't need fantastic sound. I find it to be very good; not as good as my son's Bose, but much better than I'd have thought based on some of the other reviews.
