Strengths: Convenient size, easy WiFi connections, great sound/audio, great for surfing. Excellent if you like pen based computing.

Weakness: A little too small. It does what it represents, however, the tradeoff is loss of full screens on some sites. More of a gadget than a full tool

Not that you would want to respond to extensive emails with it, it does a good job with short response type notes.

The down side: that the battery life is short. I did purchase the portable battery pack, but that too runs down after one and a half 'recharges' to the main unit. Nice accessory, but still it limits the functionality of the unit. Don't rely on this product as a strong replacement for your PC, you won't be pleased.

Even though I enjoy this gadget, I still want to get a more functional, lightweight, tablet PC. The design is a good move toward that end, but it's not there yet. when you stop and think about the fact that for a few hundred more one could have a strong notebook or even a tablet, it's not priced properly to fill that spot in the landscape of these products.

Good product, but too early in the evolution of these devices.

Strengths: Small form factor, High quality finish, Keyboard with carrying case portfolio

Weakness: difficult to upgrage from 512 MB to 1 Gig, 40 Gig hard drive

The battery life is about 2 1/2 hours so an extra battery wouldn't be a bad idea when on the road. For one of the first UMPC I think that this computer is very good and will serve me well. The computer comes with a 40 Gig hard drive. A 60 to 100 Gig drive would have been nice if one is to use this computer as a multimedia machine

Not So Mobile...

Weakness: Does not come w/ m/s office (?!) Does not come w/keyboard Does not come with external media drives (i.e. optical/cd/dvd-rom/floppy) Not-so-mobile after accessories added 1 USB port No mouse buttons

The features of this device were NOT thought-out well, if at all and that's even more costly than it's $1200.00 price tag (after k/b and tax/shipping).

Suggestion: if you are still thinking of getting one after reading this then wait a bit: they'll be discounting these things soon for sure!

Great for travel

Strengths: Smaller than a laptop. Intel Celeron M with Windows XP Tablet PC edition: Do whatever you do in Windows (except processor-intensive programs or games): Movies, music, internet browsing.

Weakness: Does not come with MS Office. Battery life is about 2.5 hours. No keyboard.

It's not meant as a desktop or laptop. I use it to organize my documents and as an alternative to carrying my Tablet PC on trips overseas. On my last trip, I left my Tablet PC behind and just carried the Samsung. I was able to watch movies, play games, learn Chinese, and read (it was a vacation). It's not meant as a desktop or laptop. I use it to organize my documents and as an alternative to carrying my Tablet PC on trips overseas. On my last trip, I left my Tablet PC behind and just carried the Samsung. I was able to watch movies, play games, learn Chinese, and read (it was a vacation).

To solve the lack of MS Office, lack of external keyboard, and short battery life you can use OpenOffice (freeware), plug in any USB keyboard you want, and buy the 6hr battery.

If you are studying Chinese (or any language that doesn't use the alphabet), you should know that Tablet PCs allow you to handwrite the Chinese characters and it will convert them to the appropriate "typed" character. It's easier than using a keyboard.
